Unipotent Classes

Enumerates the unipotent conjugacy classes of the chosen reductive group. The output mirrors UnipotentClasses(W) in GAP3/Chevie. At the top, the closure order of the classes is displayed as a chain ordered by \leq (Zariski closure of orbits). The table below then lists each class uu with:

  • uu — the class name (e.g. a partition for classical types, or a Bala–Carter label for exceptional types).
  • D-R — the Dynkin–Richardson label: a string of digits encoding the weighted Dynkin diagram of the class (shown only in characteristic 00).
  • dimBu\dim B_u — the dimension of the Springer fibre Bu={BBuB}B_u = \{B \in \mathcal{B} \mid u \in B\}.
  • A(u)A(u) — the component group of the centraliser CG(u)C_G(u).
  • Springer series columns — for each Springer series, the pair χ:ϕ\chi : \phi of the A(u)A(u)-character χ\chi and the relative-Weyl-group character ϕ\phi attached to uu by the Springer correspondence.
